Why did American born Katherine Russell alert her husband he was wanted in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings. That’s the question Law enforcement wants to answer. Now Law enforcement officials are carefully reexamining any possible role Katherine Russell Tsarnaeva, the wife of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, may have played in the terror attack on April 15. The new investigation follows information provided by Dzokhar Tsarnaev during his interrogation by FBI officials which he disclosed before being read his rights by a federal magistrate.

Officials say Dzokhar Tsarnaev told interrogators that the information that set of the series of events leading to Tamerlan’s death and Dzokhar’s apprehension came as a result of  a phone call from Katherine Russell Tsarnaeva to her husband. “She notified him and there certainly didn’t seem to be any notion of surprise – just a report that ‘you’re being watched,’” According to an  official with knowledge of the investigation. Tsarnaev had seen the photographs and videos distributed by the FBI on television and called her husband to give him a heads up.

After receiving the phone call from his wife authorities believe Tamerlan realized he could not continue to hide from law enforcement, and this began the brothers’ bizarre flight from Law enforcement that resulted a wild chase, the murder of an MIT police officer, a convenience-store robbery, carjacking, shootouts with police officers, the death of Tamerlan and eventual capture of Dzokhar.

While an attorney for Katherine Russell Tsarnaeva has said that her client knew nothing about her husband’s plans and wanted to help authorities conducting the investigation. This new disclosure has authorities following a different lead.

Katherine Russell 24, grew up in Rhode Island and converted to Islam after meeting Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

This latest report comes amid the news that the mother of the Boston Marathon suspects was placed on a US terror watch list 18 months before the terror attacks. Zubeidat Tsarnaev and her deceased son Tamerlan were put on a list in 2011 after Russian authorities informed the CIA the two Chechens were Islamic extremists. Authorities now believe she maybe the one who radicalized her eldest son.
