Alina Tsarnaev, the sister of the Boston Marathon Bombing suspects Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who lives in West New York, is shocked by what has happened. “I’m hurt for everyone that’s been hurt.” She said. As her brother Dzhokar Tsarnaev 19 was taken into custody in Watertown Mass on Friday night, Alina was still trying to absorb what had happened. It had been a traumatic day for the residents of Boston. The City spent the day in lock-down following an extensive manhunt which left Alina’s 26-year-old brother Tamerlan dead, and her other brother Dzhokhar at large until he was found by police. Within minutes of Dzhokhar surrendering to authorities in Watertown, Mass, West New York Mayor Felix Roque arrived at Alina Tsardsaev’s apartment, and asked the press to give the family some privacy. “This is a grieving process. It is very sad,” he said. “I’m looking at the human side and it’s not easy.” Speaking to reporters Alina Tsarnaev said: “I’m sorry for the families that lost their loved ones, the same way I lost a loved one … This is very hurtful,” she said. When asked by the media if she was “okay. her response was quite understandable.” “No I’m not okay. No one is okay right now,” she said. Tsarnaev says she hadn’t seen her brothers in “a long time. But described her dead brother Tamerlan as “an amazing child.” She said: “He was a great person,” she said. “I thought I knew him. I never would have expected that from him. He is a kind and loving man. The cops took his life away just the same way he took others’ lives away, if that’s even true. At the end of the day, no one knows the truth.” Later, she said, “I have no idea what got into them.” Tsarnaev’s husband also asked the media to “give us a little while” He said he was “born and raised” in America and had never met his brothers-in-law. “I’m not Muslim and they didn’t accept me … Let’s leave it at that,” he said.
