We understand mistakes can happen, especially in newspapers and sometimes when it comes to deadline reporting but The New York Times having to correct a story that’s two thousand years old? Now come on grey Lady. Talk about a gaff! At the risk of never being hired by The NYT, (who would want to be) below is the correction. The date could not be better. Can someone send the Times a memo telling them what Christmas is about, just so they have a heads up on that one! Earth to NY Times editor the Resurrection is the whole point of the day! The Divine factor! It’s not the X Factor or the two party State factor but it is a fact which you should have known and you could have avoided this correction.

Correction: April 1, 2013

An earlier version of this article mischaracterized the Christian holiday of Easter. It is the celebration of Jesus’s resurrection from the dead, not his resurrection into heaven.
