Let us introduce you to Megan Pearson…..
AskaNewYorker: Hello Megan, what do you do?
Megan : I’m an actress.
AskaNewYorker: (another actress, we promise to diversify in our next uberchic interview). So, how’s that going?
Megan: It’s as difficult as any creative field in New York, but it’s going well; movies and couple other things coming up, a couple things just wrapped.
AskaNewYorker: Could you share a little?
Megan: I’m doing a horror film in Baltimore in January and I just finished a short film that is supposed to be entered in to festivals, in which I play an evil-cat-woman-seductress sort of thing. What else?…did some sketch comedy in the Fringe Festival (www.fringenyc.org).
AskaNewYorker: How long have you been acting?
Megan: Oh, goodness. Probably off and on for the last 3-4 years.
AskaNewYorker: Well, it sounds like you’ve got some good momentum going.
Megan: I’m trying.
AskaNewYorker: What characteristics do you believe are essential in preparing for this incredibly competitive career choice?
Megan: Work really hard, audition as much as you can, keep training-can’t ever get enough of that, and stay positive. You can’t get down because there are a million of us running around.
AskaNewYorker: Where have you trained?
Megan: At North Carolina at Wake Forrest and with the North Carolina school of arts.
AskaNewYorker: Ever consider moving out to California?
Megan: Sure, that’s on the distant horizon, but I’m not ready for that yet. It’s a totally different market, something new to play with.
AskaNewYorker: How would you describe Megan’s style?
Megan: (laughs) I generally tell people I get dressed in the dark, sometimes I hit it, sometimes I don’t. Most of the time I do, I think.
AskaNewYorker: What are you reading?
Megan: Right now I am reading the Life and Death of King John.
AskaNewYorker: Where did you get your apres ski boots?
Megan: They were a Christmas present from my parents last year and I wore them every single day last winter. I’ll be wearing them a lot this year, hopefully I’ll be getting a pair in brown for Christmas this year.
AskaNewYorker: Last question…what was the last good movie you saw?
Megan: The original Thomas Crown affair with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. It’s a hot, hot movie.
AskaNewYorker: Single?
Megan : No, I have a fiancee (big smile on her face).
AskaNewYorker: Congratulations!
