Bill de Blasio’s new mayoral campaign aide is a twitter terror according to reports published today. Kicy Motley or someone tweeting under her name has launched foul mouthed rants against everyone from the NYPD to NAACP. Not really a good idea if you are trying to get someone elected. Motley’s rants are not only confined to New York. She has also used the social media platform to champion ex- LAPD cop Chris Dorner, after he went on a wild shooting spree claiming he was fired because of racism. “There’s a part of me rooting for #Dorner.” the rest of what she said quite frankly is so way beyond being worthy of re-reporting here at Ask a New Yorker.
When confronted about these tweets Dorner was quick to apologize. She took down her Twitter page but is that really enough? A de Blasio campaign spokesperson said: “These tweets are clearly unacceptable, and do not in any way reflect the views of our campaign, and Kicy has been disciplined for making them.” Disciplined for making them? What about a new job for Kicy?
The only person who is likely to benefit from this situation is Christine Quinn and quite frankly if a Mayoral candidate staff can’t run their Tweeter feed effectively how on earth are they going to run New York? Tweet that!
