Perhaps the alignment of stars, or the 10th anniversary of her prison term
for insider trading, propelled the media chaos to record a glimpse and
the glimmer of the doyenne of all things home; the illustrious, albeit
somewhat stained Martha Stewart.
She was faced with being photographed by a pool photographer as
she took the stand in court before an audience while testifying in the duel between Macy’s
and JC Penney over which department store will be victorious in hawking her line of merchandise.
Her wares extend from snazzy enamel pots to puffy comforters, sheets and pillow cases.
It was, apparently a “Good Thing” as relayed in reporters’ tweets and the view
expressed by presiding Justice, Jeffrey Oing.
The crux, and ultimate decision, in the non jury civil trial will determine if
Stewart and JC Penney were in breach of a standing agreement between
herself and Macy’s when a separate deal was struck to create a store within
a store boutique concept just for JC Penney.
