Most people think summer is the best time to travel. Are they nuts? Kids are out of school, planes are packed, temperatures are hot and tempers are short.
Give me fall travel any day.
Remember all of those flights you were trying to book this spring or early summer and fares (along with gas prices) were going up and up and up? Have a look at the airfares now.
Fall is traditionally the time of year when you can get the best deals on trips and vacation packages. In fact, give it another few weeks and generally around Labor Day, prices drop like magic. The best international fall deals are generally to Europe and the Caribbean and if you plan on staying in one location or using a city or place and a base for your travels, go with the package deal.
Just remember there is a window of opportunity. Most of these deals have the stipulation that travel has to be completed by the end of October.
If you have vacation time left in the bank, start putting your thinking cap on and start watching for sales. If you’ve used your time up… start planning ahead for next year’s fall sales.
