Having a father who was President of the United States and a mother as Secretary of State is a tough act to follow but Chelsea Clinton is doing just fine. In fact she’s doing great! Last weekend this beautiful young woman, who cares deeply about humanity, could have stayed home but instead got up at the crack of dawn to inspire young people to live their dream, and help fight the major issues that effect us all.
Chelsea hosted TEDxTeen 2013. Over 300 teenagers and adults joined Chelsea for the independently organized conference presented by the We Are Family Foundation. The Conference focused the conversation on teens and their power to change the world. The event was held at Scholastic’s global world headquarters in New York City. Andrew Jenks, creator of MTV’s World of Jenks and author of “Andrew Jenks: My Adventures as a Young Filmmaker,” joined Chelsea. The event was also available to an online global audience and people from 141 countries tuned in to experience the conference streaming live.
The theme of the fourth annual TEDxTeen conference, “The Audacity of whY,” resonates with Generation Y – or more appropriately, “Generation Why?” – as they turn over established regimes, age-old thinking, and timeless truths, through social media, the power of crowds and an unswerving belief that they have the right to know “why?.
An effective and charming public speaker Chelsea inspired everyone in the audience as well as those watching on line. Certainly Chelsea was promoting a worthy cause. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading that started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, Since its formation TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives.
