On a gorgeous fall day, we stopped Angie coming out of the Whole Foods at 14th Street…
AskaNewYorker: What have you been up to on this great day?
Angie: I got up, went to Whole Foods, and got myself some strawberries.
AskaNewYorker: What did you do last night?
Angie: I just hung out with some friends and drank some pumpkin ale.
AskaNewYorker: Where did you go?
Angie: Just to a friends apartment in Brooklyn, pretty low key.
AskaNewYorker: Where do you live?
Angie: In Queens, in the Woodside/Sunnyside area.
AskaNewYorker: We’ve heard good things about Sunnyside from people on the forum. What do you think of it?
Angie: I love Sunnyside. It’s very safe and it’s got its own style and feel. It’s a great area.
AskaNewYorker: How would you describe your style and feel?
Angie: No matter what you wear, it should feel authentic. It should feel like it’s you. And you’re not doing this style because that’s what’s “in” or that’s what someone says is cool. It should feel somehow like you’re being you. You should feel comfortable in what you’re wearing, not because it,s what everyone else is wearing.
AskaNewYorker: What do you do for a living?
Angie: I’m an actress, I just got my BFA.
AskaNewYorker: Have you been in any commercials, TV, or anything we may have seen?
Angie: I just moved to New York, actually. I’m from Orange County, CA.
AskaNewYorker: What is the major difference between New York and California?
Angie: I think people are a lot more genuine here. Anything goes in New York. You can see anything, anywhere, any time. It’s great. The “shoulds” and the “have tos” kind of go out the window and everybody is just doing what they want to do. I think that’s great.
AskaNewYorker: Where do you do your clothes shopping?
Angie: Oh, I would say Canal Street. It’s definitely where to go if you need anything. I got my purse on Canal Street.
AskaNewYorker: What about those sunglasses and earrings?
Angie: Sunglasses are from California, earrings from Santa Fe. I’m all over the place!
