What: The Restless Yearning Towards My Self
Where: St. Marks in the Bowery Church, 131 East 10th St. at Second Ave.
When: Sunday, March 18th at 3 PM
Why: Because poetry, music, and dance still thrive in the East Village.
The Restless Yearning Towards My Self is about a poet finding himself in the midst of a sea of diversions, hype, and counterfeits. It will be sung by the exciting young Costa Rican baritone Jose Arturo Chacon, who will appear with international dance soloist Felicia Norton. The Restless Yearning Towards My Self challenges both performers in a piece of incredible depth and movement. This premiere is part of Downtown Music’s March Women in Music Month and will also feature a variety of music by and about women.
Tickets are $15.00, available at the door. $10 for seniors and students.
