A good Judge of character and person of the week…

Oscar the Dog’s day in court.
There are two Oscars making court room news at the moment. The blade runner in South Africa and Oscar the dog in Manhattan. Oscar the dog is facing eviction from his Upper East Side home because his building says he is dangerous. This saga has caught the attention of New Yorkers who are outraged that his poor owner, Ed Brandau, an 83 year HIV sufferer, is being put through this ordeal.ASC_0385

In light of the public attention, Ask a New Yorker.com votes Hon. Eileen A. Rakower person of the week. In court, Rakower, the Judge handling Oscar’s future, displayed professionalism and precision as she decided that this dog is of ‘no imminent danger to anyone.’ Judge Rakower ruled that for the moment at least Oscar does not have to be muzzled and can stay home.DSC_9777 The case continues and Oscar’s owner, Edgar Brandau, will be back in court on March 30th.
